PURPOSE:To achieve reliable parking by providing a parking gear coupled to the output shaft and a parking pole displacable in the rotary direction through an axially displacable rod. CONSTITUTION:The rod 41 of parking mechanism has one end coupled to a detent lever 31 and advances/retracts in axial direction through the shaft of detent lever 31 or the shift lever shaft 21. The hab 43 associated with bracket is provided while extending the tubular section for supporting the tip of rod 41 couplably from the cam face 42 when separating the tip of the rod 41 from between the cam 42 and the parking pole 45. The parking pole 45 is provided with a click 44 for stopping the parking gear 1A secured to the output shaft of automatic speed changer through a parking window 4A made through the transfer case 148.
