PURPOSE:To enhance dye formation efficiency in a color developing step and heat and light resistances of a color image and the like by incorporating a magenta coupler prepared by replacing H of pyrazolone at the active site of coupling by a substd. alkylthio group in a photographic layer. CONSTITUTION:The intended silver halide color photographic sensitive material is obtained by incorporating in the photographic layer a magenta coupler embodied by formulae II and III, represented by general formula I in which R1 is anilino, acylamino, or ureido, R2 is substd. alkyl, and X1, X2, X3 are each H, alkyl, halogen, alkoxy, aryloxy, acylamino, carbamoyl, or the like. Since these magenta couplers are high in color developing efficiency, the use amt. can be made less than those of conventional ones, and th use amt. of silver halide can be decreased, thus permitting its manufacturing cost to be lowered. |
