NEW MATERIAL:An oxyindole derivative of formula [A is lower alkylene; n is 0, 1; B is hydroxyl, formula II; R is H, lower alkyl, phenoxy-lower-alkyl phenyl- lower-alkyl, lower alkanoyl; where in case that A is ethylene group and n is i, R must not be 3,4,5-trimethoxybenzoyl, and in case that A is formula III (R<1>, R<2> are H, lower alkyl, and n is 1, R must not be H)] and its salt. EXAMPLE:5-(4-Benzyl-1-piperazinylcarbonyl)oxyindole. USE:Since it has actions to increase the contraction of cardiac muscles and increase coronary blood stream, it is used, for example, as a cardiotonic agent for cardiopathies such as congestive cardiopathies. It scarcely causes increase in pulse rates. PREPARATION:The reaction of a compound of formula IV with another compound of formula V gives the compound of formula I. |
