PURPOSE:To obtain an optical switch of small loss by reflecting the light from a first optical fiber on a mirror through a first rod lens to transmit this light to a second optical fiber through the first rod lens again if the mirror exists between the first and second rod lenses. CONSTITUTION:When terminals 28, 30, 32, and 34 are operated, mirrors 24 of their optical switches 10 are arranged between rod lenses and optical signals from adjacent host computer or terminals are supplied to them through the first optical fibers 16. These optical signals are supplied to reception terminals R through the first rod lenses 12, mirrors 24, and the second optical fibers 18. The optical signal from a transmission terminal T of each terminal is supplied to the following terminal or a host computer 26 through the fourth optical fiber 22, the second rod lens 14, the mirror 24, and the third optical fiber 20. When terminals 28, 30, 32, and 34 are not operated, mirrors 24 of their optical switches 10 are arranged on the outside of spaces between rod lenses. |
