PURPOSE:To obtain such a thawing device as to have good thawing efficiency as well as to be able to precisely grasp a thawing quantity, by raising the liquid level of a heating medium to bring it in direct contact with a freezing surface, and, after a while, lowering the liquid level of the heating medium to heat and raise it again. CONSTITUTION:An air tank 3 with its lower surface openable is disposed in the bottom portion of a main pipe 1 full of brine. Heater pipes 6, 8 pass into a heat exchanger 12 enclosed in the air tank 3, and the brine is indirectly heated by the circulation of warm water. Meanwhile, gas is supplied/exhausted through an air pipe 7, thereby controlling direct contact of the brine with a freezing part. At the time of thawing, the liquid level of the brine 11 heated by the heat exchanger 12 is brought in direct contact with the freezing part 13, resulting in lower thawing efficiency in case of long duration of this condition. Therefore, after a lapse of fixed time, the liquid level of the brine 11 is lowered to be reheated. After that, the brine 11 is brought in direct contact with the freezing part 13, thereby improving thawing efficiency. |
