PURPOSE:To obtain the titled remedy containing a specific natural or synthetic oligosaccharide or polysaccharide or a salt thereof as an active ingredient. CONSTITUTION:A remedy for animal or human retrovirus diseases containing a natural or synthetic oligosaccharide or polysaccharide or a salt thereof (e.g. dextran sulfate, mucopolysaccharide sulfuric acid ester, heparin, chondroitin sulfuric acid, etc.) having at least one S-oxo acid group bonded through a low- molecular weight connecting group to a saccharide constituent carbon atom as an active ingredient. The remedy is effective for preventing infection and pathopoiesis or remedying PGL, LAS, ARC, AIDS, ATL and Kawasaki's disease. A dose is 10mg-10g/person/day, preferably 50mg-5g and the remedy is administered once - four times or as a sustained release preparation. Oral, anal, local, nasal and vaginal administration, injection and application may be cited as administration method. |
