PURPOSE:To provide the recording capacity larger than by a constant angular velocity (CAV) system and the access timer shorter than by a constant line velocity (CLV) system by recording information while widening bit intervals from the inner peripheral side to the outer peripheral side of the recording medium to the required intervals at the time of recording by the CAV system. CONSTITUTION:The information is recorded by the CAV system in the recording region where the identification information is recorded to the specific position of a disk 1 of the recording medium via an optical modulator 12 while the frequency dividing ratio of a variable frequency divider 14 is controlled by a control circuit 3 and the frequency of the modulation clock from a header forming circuit 15 is changed to required frequencies. The bit intervals of the recording information are gradually widened at the ratio higher than the ratio of the line velocity change from the inner to the outer periphery of the disk 1 by the above-mentioned variable frequency clock, by which the memory capacity larger than by the CAV system is obtd.; in addition, the constitution is more simple than the CLV system and, therefore, the access time is shortened. |
