EASILY ADHERENT POLYESTER FILM AND MANUFACTURE THEREOF

PURPOSE:To improve adhesiveness between a magnetic layer and a base film and to provide a flat and easily adherent polyester film for use in medium for magnetic recording whose flat base film has improved slip properties and handling characteristics and a method for manufacture thereof. CONSTITUTION:A polyester film having an average roughness on the center line (Ra) of 0.01mum or less, an average roughness at ten points (Rz) of 0.1mum or less and a thickness of 20mum, wherein a primer layer comprising an ester- acryl copolymer (A) having a transformation temperature (Tg) of 10 deg.C or higher and polyurethane (B) having an anionic group is provided on at least one surface of said polyester. A method for manufacturing this polyester film according to the in-line coating method also is disclosed herein.
