PURPOSE:To provide the PD module which minimizes deterioration in the high frequency response of the electric signal outputted from a photodiode. CONSTITUTION:A light signal 11 is made incident on one of the sides which contains the right angle of a prism 2 from the light projection end 1a of an optical fiber 1. This light signal 11 is changed in direction by 90 deg. and returned by a flank of the prism 2 and further travels straight and is made incident on the photodetection surface of the photodiode 3 after passing the other side containing the right angle of the prism 2. The light signal 11 is converted by the photodiode 3 into the electric signal. This electric signal is supplied to a printed circuit board 5 through lead lines 7 and 8 of the photodiode 3 and processed by an electric circuit (not shown in figure) mounted on the printed circuit board 5.
