<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a fluorophor having excellent light emission efficiency, when emitting white light, and to provide a light-emitting device using the same and having an excellent color-rendering property. <P>SOLUTION: This fluorophor is characterized by having a two layer structure comprising a particle diameter core having a quantum effect and a shell covering the core, having a core ground-state energy in a range of 1.85 to 2.05 eV, not having a core high-order energy in ranges of 2.3 to 2.5 eV and 2.65 to 2.8 eV, and exhibits red color having a peak wavelength of 600 to 670 nm by the absorption of light, or the fluorophor is characterized by having a two layer structure comprising a particle diameter core having a quantum effect and a shell covering the core, having a core ground-state energy in a range of 2.3 to 2.5 eV, not having a core high-order energy in ranges of 2.65 to 2.8 eV, and exhibits green color having a peak wavelength of 500 to 540 nm by the absorption of light.
