The control unit (1) described has several functions and can be used near the equipment, for example an electromotor or pump (2), with its functions monitored by the sensors (3). This equipment can affect a brake installation, a setting drive or a supply unit. The control unit contains a load control unit (4), switching the equipment on or off and connected with an energy source (5) or network, according to a programme stored in the control device (6). This control unit is provided with a microprocessor for changing the programme if required. The control device can exchange information with an MSR unit (7), having measuring, control and regulation programmes, its sensor communications unit (8) and its diagnostic unit (9).
