PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To a reliable Rosen piezoelectric transformer of a λ /2, λ or 3 λ/2 mode which can prevent mechanical destruction at the time of driving by weakening residual stress caused by polarization by means of an electrode structure and operation of a polarization voltage. SOLUTION: In the Rosen piezoelectric transformer 1 of λ/2 mode; a major surface of the piezoelectric transformer is divided into nearly equal 2 zones, a first electrode is formed on first one of the 2 zones, a second electrode is formed on second one thereof, and a polarization voltage of the second electrode is set to be lower than that of the first electrode for polarization. Thereby its destruction probability can be reduced with its improved reliability. Since an area of the electrode on a primary side of the transformer is set larger, its input capacity can be can be made large and thus its input impedance can be made small. |
