The device has a housing (1) with blower (5) and air guides to control fresh air and/or circulating air flows. The air guide element (3) to open/close the intake collar (2) is formed as a flap with two sections (14, 15), which pivot about one pivot axis (16, 17), and in opposite directions. The flap sections are positioned in the intake collar area, so that in one flap opening position, the air flow is taken-in in a cross sectional part, which extends from the blower spiral (10) to a short end wall (20) of the housing.
