The unit has a holder (1) connected to a spray head (2), a tubular spray arm (3), a vertical axle (4) and a lever (5). The holder is provided on the toilet bowl (20), and the outlet from either a shower battery or valve (7) is connected to the spray head. This is done via the spray arm extending over the edge of the bowl, which is pivotable about the vertical axle and brings the spray head either into working position central in the bowl or a rest position near or at the bowl edge. The spray arm is fixed adjustably in the working or rest positions by use of the lever. The spray unit has its shower water supplied either by the shower battery or valve.
