The container for a fluid may be used as a drinking vessel. It has a cylindrical wall (10) and a flat bottom (14). A flat lid (12) with downturned edges covers the top of the vessel. A central column or rod (34) holds the lid and connects it with a coarse sieve (32) at the bottom of the vessel. The sieve may be turned by turning the lid and may be lifted up by lifting up the lid.
