<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enable a processing in short time, to reduce cost of communication and to obtain target information by retrieving map information applicable to address data, retrieving a target object like a building, etc., to supplement the address data from the map information, generating additional information to an address like the target object, direction and distance, etc., and inputting the additional information from a communication means to an electronic instrument by text information. SOLUTION: A portable electronic instrument is connected with a map retrieval device including a map information database device 13 to hold map data by the communication means and character string information data are exchanged between the portable electronic instrument and the map retrieval device. The address inputted in a display part 21 of the portable electronic instrument is transmitted from a communication means 24 of the portable electronic instrument to a communication means 29 of the map retrieval device 13. The applicable map is decided by using the address by the map information database device 13, pieces of target object, direction and display information, etc., are transmitted as a character string from the communication means 29 to the communication means 24 of the portable electronic instrument, are stored in a storage part 25 or displayed on the display part 21.</p> |
