PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To heighten an oil recovery rate in a breather device. SOLUTION: This breather device is provided with an inlet passage 6 for leading gas in a gear case to a breather 2; a check valve 8 opened to the flow of gas flowing toward the breather 2 from the gear case 3 through the inlet passage 6; a drain passage 7 for leading oil in the breather 2 to the gear case 3; and a check valve 9 opened to the flow of oil flowing toward the gear case 3 from the breather 2 through the drain passage 7.
