PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce a storage area for member information of a large-scale of mailing list stored in a storage device of a mailing list server. SOLUTION: The member management device of the mail server which distributes electronic mail to members is equipped with a mailing list process part 12 which receives a request to generate member information and a request to refer to member information and a member information process part 13 which is arranged at the mailing list process part 12 reads in a member information storage means 18 at the request for member information generation and the request for member information reference, compares the head of the electronic mail address of a 1st record of a mailing list in the member information storage means 18 with the head of a current record of an electronic mail address to be retrieved, and imparts a conversion identifier to the current record the electronic mail address to be retrieved when they are matched with each other and imparts it as a converted electronic mail address when not matched.
