PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make adjustable the positions of an X-ray source and a pickup tube by finding an X-ray brightest part by vertically moving a pickup surface having a center agreed with the X-ray brightest part by a predetermined distance, and eliminating the angular difference between the vertical axis of the pickup surface and an X-ray radiation axis found on the basis of the displacement of both brightest parts by relatively moving the pickup surface and the X-ray source. SOLUTION: An X-ray 8 is applied to the pickup tube 7 from the X-ray source 4 to find the brightest part 24. The pickup tube 7 is moved in the X, Y directions by X-direction, Y-direction driving circuits 14a, 14b and motors 12a, 12b to allow the brightest part of the X-ray to agree with a center of the pickup surface 10. The pickup tube 7 is moved in the X direction by a specific distance L by a Z direction driving circuit 14c and a motor 12c, and the X-ray 8 is applied to the pickup tube 7 from the X-ray source 4 to measure a distance(d) between the brightest part and a pickup surface 10. An angleαmade between the X-ray radiation axis 6 and the Z-direction is determined on the basis of L and (d), the pickup tube 7 is rotated about the X and Y axes by XR direction, YR direction driving circuits 14d, 14e and motors 12d, 12e on the basis of the determined angle to allow the X-ray radiation axis 6 to agree with the Z-direction.
