PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a recording medium player which shortens the time required for taking-out information in a recording medium after insertion of the recording medium and can be made small-sized. SOLUTION: A recording medium player 1 takes out information in a CD as the recording medium and is provided with a equipment main body, a carrying unit 4, a clamp reproducing unit 5, and a lock member 44. The carrying unit 4 is provided with a roll arm 37 and a disk guide 38. The clamp reproducing unit 5 is provided with a lock pin 52. The clamp reproducing unit 5 is freely moved to the equipment main body. The lock member 44 is engaged with the lock pin 52 to fix the clamp reproducing unit 5. The lock member 44 releases the engaging to the lock pin 52 to allow the clamp reproducing unit 5 to freely move to the equipment main body. When the clamp reproducing unit 5 clamps the CD, the roll arm 37 and the disk guide 38 go away from the CD, and the engaging of the lock member 44 is gradually released. |
