PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance evaluation precision for a steam loss in a steam trap. SOLUTION: A discharged object (drain, leaked steam or the like 20) from the steam trap 14 is collected in a collection vessel 22, a heat quantity taken out by the discharged object is calculated based on a water temperature and a water amount of collected water varied by the collection of the discharged object, and the taken-out heat quantity is compared with a sensible heat quantity of the steam coming into the steam trap to evaluate the steam loss in the steam trap.
