PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flowing direction and flow rate / flowing direction meter using an optical fiber sensor accurately detecting flowing direction in all directions without increasing the number of strain detection plates and an optical fiber type strain gauge. SOLUTION: The meter comprises a rotation shaft 2 supported freely rotating; a flowing direction detection fin 1 for rotating by the rotation shaft 2 a specific angle along the flow of fluid; a disk shape cam member 7 having a guide plane 7f drawing a sine curve varying with the rotational angle of the rotation shaft 2; a direction strain detection plate 8 attached to the guide plane 7f of the cam member 7, slid at the tip end and fixed at the base end and elastically bending following the guide plane 7f; and the optical fiber type strain gauge 9 which is provided on the direction strain detection plate 8, generates a strain according to the bend of the direction strain detection plate 8, and detects the flowing direction from the degree of the strain.
