PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent a user from missing a photographing chance unexpectedly during preview display and to record required images. SOLUTION: A memory 22 has capacity capable of storing a plurality of images. A CPU 28 determines whether or not image presently stored in the memory 22 are displayed in preview and whether or not a new images can be further stored in the memory 22 when the images are displayed in preview. If determining that the memory 22 can further store the new images, the CPU 28 controls a CCD 14 to image an object, and stores an image indicating the object in a region different from the region already storing images in the memory 22.
