An inverter and a frequency control method using the same are provided to compensate the operation frequency width of an LCD monitor at low or high temperatures by controlling the operation frequency of the LCD monitor, thereby preventing flickering and waving phenomena. An inverter(120) includes a microcomputer(122) and a temperature sensing sensor(123). The microcomputer compares an LCD(Liquid Crystal Display) operation frequency with the dimming frequency of the inverter and controls the voltage of the dimming frequency for matching the dimming frequency and the operation frequency according to the compared result. The temperature sensing sensor senses the temperature of the inverter. The inverter compensates and outputs the operation frequency of the inverter by controlling the microcomputer according to temperature changes sensed in the temperature sensing sensor. |
