<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a dye-sensitized solar battery with insulation layers formed on an exposed surface of a semiconductor oxide layer formed on a semiconductor electrode and an exposed surface of a conductive substrate, respectively, and with the electron loss route blocked, as well as its manufacturing method. <P>SOLUTION: The dye-sensitized solar battery includes a semiconductor electrode and a counter electrode opposing each other, and electrolyte solution intervened between the above. The semiconductor electrode is provided with a conductive substrate, a semiconductor oxide layer formed on the conductive substrate, a dye molecular layer absorbed on a surface of the semiconductor oxide layer, and insulation layers formed on the surface of the semiconductor oxide layer exposed through the dye molecular layer and a surface of the conductive substrate, respectively. The insulation layer is formed of a self-assembly organic layer which assembles itself by chemical bond on the surface of the semiconductor oxide layer and the surface of the conductive substrate, respectively. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2008,JPO&INPIT |
