PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a personal identification device capable of improving the reliability of personal identification. SOLUTION: The personal identification device 41 is provided with a biometrics part 43 and a password authentication part 45. In a first authentication processing part 51 included in the biometrics part 43, and a first threshold to be reference of a personal identification success and a second threshold which is a value smaller than the first threshold and becomes reference of a personal identification failure are set. When there is no such user that the degree of coincidence of bioinformation exceeds the first threshold and there is such a user that the degree of coincidence of bioinformation is between the first threshold and the second threshold, personal identification is entrusted to the password authentication part 45 without determining the success/failure of personal identification.
