PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To reduce size in the vertical direction of an entire pressure contact thyristor module for large electric power. SOLUTION: An insulation plate 11 and an anode terminal bar 12 are arranged on a heat slinger 1, and a thyristor chip 13 with an anode electrode 13a on its lower surface, a gate electrode 13b in the central part of its upper surface and an annular cathode electrode 13c around its periphery is arranged thereon. A conductive cathode spacer 14 is arranged on the cathode electrode 13c, and a coil-spring type gate electrode signal wire 15 is arranged on the gate electrode 13b. Then, a cylindrical insulative gate spacer 16 for insulating the conductive cathode spacer 14 from the coil-spring type gate electrode signal wire 15 is arranged, and a cathode terminal bar 18 is arranged on the conductive cathode spacer 14. The entire parts are vertically pressure-contacted by the pressure contact means 19, and a pinching projection 17b that pinches a part 15b extending in the horizontal direction of the upper end of the coil-spring type gate electrode signal wire 15 together with the bottom surface 16a2 of a housing groove 16a of the insulative gate spacer 16, is formed on the lower surface of an insulative lid member 17.
