PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To satisfactorily determine a position of a piston provided with a piston rod.

SOLUTION: Apparatus on a drafting system of a spinning room machine, for weighting the drafting system rollers, comprises at least one pressure-medium cylinder with a piston acted upon by pressure medium and arranged to be axially movable inside a cylinder housing. A piston rod extends from the piston passing through at least one cylinder cover that defines the cylinder housing at the end. An inductive displacement sensor determining the position of the piston provided with the piston rod is arranged. At least one inductive displacement sensor is integrated into the pressure-medium system comprising the housing and a pressure-medium starting piston for determining the position of the piston provided with the piston rod, and the inductive displacement sensor is connected to an evaluation device, in order to improve the apparatus.
