The invention relates to an ice skate blade sharpening device formed by a rectangular metal base on which at least two rigid plates are installed with an opening therebetween. The skate and the blade are positioned in the opening with the blade disposed between the plates and projecting from the rear of the base. The skate is secured with screws and a clamping part which, by connecting the plates, secures the skate and blade in position. The grindstone assembly consists of two pivot arms which, under the action of the pivot, raise or lower an assembly formed by a motor, a coupling part and the circular grindstones at the ends thereof, while a spring causes the circular grindstones to move upward. Both assemblies are mounted on an assembly that includes a pinion, a rack and two tracks. The device can also include an accessory guide track so as to prevent any damage from being caused in the event that the device is operated without a skate in place, and a use counter. |
