PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent the damage of a cage caused by the contact of the cage with a raceway ring while reducing stress generated at the cage, in a ball bearing for a wave motion reduction gear.SOLUTION: A ball bearing 32 for a wave motion reduction gear has: an inner ring 34 which can rotate integrally with an elliptical cam, and is elastically deformable; an outer ring 33 which can rotate integrally with a flex spline, and is elastically deformable; a plurality of balls between the inner ring 34 and the outer ring 33; and a cage 36 in which a plurality of pockets for accommodating the balls are formed. The cage 36 has a circular ring part, and a plurality of column parts which extend to an axial direction from the circular ring part, clearances between the adjacent column parts in a peripheral direction serve as the pockets, and an inside face which can contact with the balls possessed by the pockets is formed of a plane which is straight to a radial direction. Clearances which are formed between the balls and the column parts in a peripheral direction are smaller than a clearance K1 of an external annular space E1 in a radial direction which is formed between the elliptically-deformed outer ring 33 and the cage 36.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 7 |
