PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To improve the printing quality by performing excellent preheating processing without insufficient preheating and excessive preheating.SOLUTION: A tape printer 1 includes a printing head control circuit 221 which generates one main pulse m and one sub-pulse s for each dot included in a dot pattern, and a printing head 11. A CPU 212 generates image data based on the printing data with a dot pattern, executes preheating processing for generating the sub-pulse s with respect to a preheating object dot when the main pulse m is generated with respect to a specific one dot included in the dot pattern and the main pulse m and the sub-pulse s are not generated with respect to the preheating object dots of N dots preceding in the conveyance direction adjacently to the specific dot, cancels generation of the sub-pulse s of the first dot when the first dot whose main pulse m is generated within M dots preceding in the conveyance direction is included in the preheating object dots, and sets N and M variable in accordance with the type of a printing object tape 150 at this time.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 17 |
