PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To enhance the productivity without deteriorating the quality of a saddle-stitched booklet.SOLUTION: A sheet processing device comprises: a moving saddle 332 which supports a saddle-stitched booklet from below in a saddle-riding manner; a conveyance part (base part and first drive part) which conveys the moving saddle 332 in the state of supporting the saddle-stitched booklet; a clamp part 340 which holds the vicinity of the fold of the saddle-stitched booklet supported by the moving saddle 332 conveyed by the conveyance part to lift it up from the moving saddle 332; and a sheet processing control part which executes a retreat operation for returning the moving saddle 332 to the initial position by controlling the conveyance part after lifting up the saddle-stitched booklet from the moving saddle 332 by the clamp part 340. The sheet processing control part decides any of the execution timing at which the moving saddle 332 is brought into contact with the saddle-stitched booklet at the time of the retreat operation and the execution timing at which the moving saddle 332 is not brought into contact with the saddle-stitched booklet at the time of the retreat operation in accordance with sheet conditions.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 9 |
