FIELD: fuel.SUBSTANCE: invention relates to improvement in production of liquid fuels from solid material. Method for production of fuel from carbonaceous feed material includes: (A) providing fossil-fuel hydrocarbon feed, selected from a group comprising natural gas, methane, naphtha, liquid petroleum gases (LPG), (B) forming from said fossil-fuel hydrocarbon feed a gaseous product stream comprising hydrogen and carbon monoxide at a molar ratio of H:CO of at least 2.0:1, (C) adding gaseous product stream formed in step (B) to a synthesis gas stream containing hydrogen and CO, that is derived from carbonaceous feed material, selected from biomass, coal, coke or bitumen by gasification in sufficient amount to produce a mixed synthesis gas stream, having molar ratio H:CO, higher than that of said stream of synthesis gas produced from carbonaceous feed material, (D) conversion of said mixed stream of synthesis gas with formation of product fuel and extraction from said conversion stream of by-products, including one or more of hydrogen, CO, water vapour, methane and hydrocarbons, containing 2-8 carbon atoms and 0-2 oxygen atoms, and includes a step (E), where stream of by-products is divided - conducting reaction of less than 100 % of said stream of by-products in formation of said gaseous product stream at step (B) and also to less than 100 % stream of by-products obtained at step (D) is fed to step (B) and combusted for producing heat consumed in formation of said gaseous product stream at step (B), wherein method further involves evaporation of feed water stream by means of heat produced by conversion of said mixed stream of synthesis gas at step (D) to obtain vapour, introducing said stream of water vapour in reaction with hydrocarbon stock based on fossil fuel at step (B) and in gasification of carbonaceous feed material.
