Shopping cart basket and method of manufacture

A shopping cart in one embodiment comprises a uniframe, a mat basket, and a slim-fit cart frame and basket combination, as well as in multiple embodiments, providing individual structural differences and advantages over pre-existing forms of shopping carts.

A shopping cart comprising a basket with a basket side and a basket front of criss-crossing wires, the basket including a wire of the basket front welded to a wire of the basket side and lying generally parallel to the wire of the basket side to which the wire of the basket front is welded, the basket having two basket sides of criss-crossing wires, the basket front having two outward edges, the basket including a wire along each outward edge of the basket front welded to a wire of a basket side and lying generally parallel to the wire of the basket side to which the wire of the basket front is welded;
wherein the wire of the basket front is welded to the wire of the basket side along an upright corner of the shopping cart; and wherein the wire along each outward edge of the basket front is welded to the respective wire of each basket side forming upright corners of the shopping cart.
