Provided in embodiments of the present invention are a polar code hybrid automatic retransmission request method and device. The method comprises: acquiring, by a communication device, a bit sequence of retransmission information, wherein the bit sequence of the retransmission information comprises K retransmission information bits determined from a bit sequence of primarily transmitted information, and the bit sequence of the primarily transmitted information comprises N primarily transmitted information bits, N being a positive integer, and K being a positive integer less than or equal to N; performing a polar encoding, by the communication device, on the bit sequence of the retransmission information to acquire a retransmission coding bit sequence; and transmitting, by the communication device, the retransmission coding bit sequence to another communication device. |
