The invention relates to water-containing solutions of silicon-containing isothiuronium compounds, to their preparation and their use. For example, haloalkylalkoxysilanes can be reacted in a water-containing solution with thiourea derivatives, in which case isothiuronium compounds containing alkoxysilane or siloxane groups are obtained, which compounds can be processed further in the aqueous solution.
