PURPOSE:To save a trouble for adjusting the focus one by one, and to shorten the observation time by constituting the titled microscope so that an angle made by the surface of a sample loading table and an optical axis of an optical system is made variable, and a plane to be observed can be adjusted vertically against the optical axis of the optical system. CONSTITUTION:A sample is supposed to be that which forms partially a plane as a part to be observed. First of all, 3-4 points of suitable parts are determined on a plane to be observed so that the plane to be observed becomes vertical against an optical axis 4, and controls 5, 10 and 11 are adjusted so that the focus conforms by only selecting an observation point by operating controls 7, 8, in any of those points. Accordingly, the plane to be observed becomes vertical against the optical axis 4, and thereafter, even when an arbitrary point on the plane is selected against the vertical direction of the optical axis 4 by the controls 7, 8, a state that the focus has conformed can always be held without executing an adjustment in the direction of the optical axis 4 by the control 5. In such a way, such a complicacy as the focus is readjusted whenever the observation point is moved is eliminated.
