PURPOSE:To attain the working at a cutting speed optimum in real time to each block of the entire program by providing a shape recognition arithmetic means and an optimum speed input means. CONSTITUTION:The shape recognition arithmetic means 3b reads contents of the program from the N-th block to the M-th block sequentially and obtains a shape (radius of curvature) up to the M-th block sequentially. Then the processing speed subject to arithmetic operation by a working speed arithmetic means 3d and an output of a working condition speed arithmetic means 3c are compared and subject to arithmetic operation, the result is compared with the stored content of the working speed storage means 3c to calculate the working speed optimum to the accuracy and the working condition. The result is stored in a process speed storage means 3e and the speed is compared with a speed F(M-1) of the (m-1)th block being a one-preceding block to the M-th block, and when the ratio exceeds a prescribed value, the speed correction is applied. Through the provision of the shape recognition arithmetic means 3b, the optimum accuracy setting means 5 and the working condition speed setting means 7 allows the working at an optimum cutting speed in real time to each block of the entire program.
