PURPOSE:To record/reproduce data with high fidelity to the pulse beam of recording light by forming a Sb2Se3 optical recording film having 15nm - 25nm thickness. CONSTITUTION:The recording medium consists of a transparent substrate 1, recording film 2, ZnS film 3, reflecting film 4. Since the Sb2Se2 optical recording film is made as thin as 15nm - 25nm thick, thermal conduction from an irradiat ed part of recording beam to a part not irradiated with light can be suppressed. Thereby, crystallization in the nonirradiated part with recording light adjacent to the irradiated part can be prevented and crystallization can be limited to the irradiated part without spreading along the scanning direction of the beam. Recording and reproducing can be performed with high fidelity to the pulse beam of recording light. |
