The dartboard (4) is mounted on a backplate (3) under a display head (5) on which the scores (9) are presented in response to impact of darts upon scoring areas of the board (4). Each space (13) between radial wires and concentric rings (12) is occupied by one segment of a switching gp. cooperating with a foot impacted by the dart. The switching gps. are sandwiched between an elastic underlayer and a carrier plate so that each impact closing a switch sends a pulse to a microprocessor. The underlayer, switching gp. and carrier plate all transmit backlight from a lamp (22) to illuminate the board (4).
