PURPOSE:To facilitate refill of sheets by allowing a sheet feeding means and a transport means to transport sheets to a sheet accommodation part automatically when sheets are placed on sheet placing tables, and stopping the feed of the sheets when it is sensed that the accommodation part is filled with sheets. CONSTITUTION:When sheets are placed on sheet placing tables 201, 202 and a refill key in a function selection part is depressed, the sheets are fed via a refill transport system 140 to refill that of sheet cassettes 131-134 which has the size corresponding to the fed sheets. If a loaded amount sensor (stack height sensing means) S11 senses in the period from start of refilling till its end that the applicable cassette is going to be filled before a certain height is attained, the sheet feed is stopped so that no sheets are left in the refilling path. When a hand feed key or copy start key is depressed, the sheets on the tables 201, 202 are sent to an image forming system 120 via a refill transport system 140. |
