Fitting cross- or kerb-ties, protruding above road surface - provides depression in road surface, into which at least part of tie is fitted

In the complete road surface is formed at least one depression, into which is fitted the cross- or kerb-tie, at least partly. The depression is pref. cut in the road surface and it may be of a type forming a longitudinal slot, or groove. Typically a prefab. cross- or kerb-tie is fitted in the depression, into which a mortar bed may be laid prior to the tie fitting. The tie alignment then takes place before the mortar has hardened. A hot melting binder may be used instead of the mortar. USE/ADVANTAGE - For tranquil road traffic and lane boundary, with extended service life.
