摘要 <p>PURPOSE:To perform efficient encoding by detecting fields, which are duplicated at the time of telecine conversion, from a video signal and removing duplicate fields from the video signal to generate a non-interlace video signal of 24Hz. CONSTITUTION:A video signal VI of 60Hz is sent to a 2-3 pull-down detection circuit 102 and has duplicated fields detected. A field mode change signal FMC as the detection signal is sent to a rate conversion circuit 103. When the signal FMC indicates duplicated fields, the rate conversion circuit 103 removes the duplicated fields from the video signal VI of 60Hz and sends this signal to a field sequence changing circuit 104 to convert it to a picture signal of 24Hz having a frame as the unit. This converted picture signal is subjected to compression and encoding processing by an encoder 105, and an error correction code is added by an ECC circuit 106, and thereafter, this signal is modulated by a modulating circuit 107 and is recorded in a medium 108.</p>
