PURPOSE:To enable the active area of a bladder in the cuff of a finger sphygmomanometer to maintain a constant aspect ratio regardless of the thickness of a finger by forming the active area with a stair section of at least one step projected inward radially and shorter in its axial length than the axial length of the base face of the bladder. CONSTITUTION:A cuff 40 of a finger sphygmomanometer is provided with a rigid cylindrical case 42 and a bladder 10. The bladder 10 is formed by folding a polyurethane sheet in a rectangular shape with a stair section preformed along the creases made beforehand and then bonding by the high frequency fusion method or the like the edges of an inward sheet 16 functioning as an active area and an outward sheet backed up by the cuff case 42 on the three sides of the folded sheet. The inward sheet 16 is preformed such that three stairs, 30A-30C, are projected inward radially from the base face 28 of the active area to maintain the optimum aspect ratio of the active area regardless of the thickness of a finger.
