<p>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a space between each emitter and an anode accurately small over a large area in order to materialize a fine dot size, and thereby provide a highly realizable fluorescent tube while each emitter is being prevented from being stained and damaged. SOLUTION: The electric field emission type fluorescent tube includes a container, a first substrate A which is housed in the aforesaid container while being provided with emitters 1 capable of emitting electrons, and with control gate electrodes 2, and a second substrate B which is so disposed as to be faced to the first substrate A, and comprises an anode electrode 6 and a fluorescent material 11 provided. In this case, the emitters 1 and the gate electrodes 2 are so disposed in the bottom surface of a groove 21 bored in the first substrate that their tip ends are located in a place lower than the surface of the first substrate A, the first and second substrates A and B are so closely attached that the aforesaid groove forming surface and a fluorescent material 11 forming surface are faced to each other, and a distance between each emitter 1 and the anode electrode 6 is thereby adjusted by controlling the depth of the groove 21.</p> |
