AUTOMATIC INSPECTION EQUIPMENT FOR QUALITY OF EGG

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect and record the freshness of egg automatically by measuring the weight of egg and the height of albumen automatically. SOLUTION: A load cell 3 in the automatic inspection equipment for quality of egg outputs a weight signal proportional to the load. An ultrasonic sensor 6 at an ultrasonic transmitting/receiving section 7 is disposed vertically above in a housing 1 at a position corresponding to a predetermined position farther on the radial outside than the circumferential edge of a circular recess made in an inspection tray 4 and outputs an albumen height signal proportional to the distance between an albumen measuring point P2 on the tray 4 and the surface of albumen. A freshness operating section operates the freshness of an egg according to a specific formula based on a weight signal from the load cell 3 and an albumen height signal from the ultrasonic sensor 6. Output from the freshness operating section is displayed and recorded at a display/recording section.
