The drum has a damper (1) for damping the tone (2) on the resonating skin (3) and fixed to the instrument (4) by flexible connectors (5) and a pedal (6) connected to the damper (1) via a rod (7) of a length and tension which is adjustable to engage on the damper and spaced more or less of the drum when the pedal (6) is actuated by the user. The damper is connected to the pedal (6) by the two ends. The flexible connectors can be springs. The pedal can have a return spring.
