PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a lighting system capable of obtaining the largest quantity of light emission and moreover of coping with making an apparatus thin by forming a reflection board into such a shape as to lead light to a light guiding board with an effective reflection, and performing a temperature control suitable for a temperature characteristic of a light source. SOLUTION: This lighting system of an edge light type comprises a light guiding board 1, a light source 2 which is provided at the side of an incident end face 1a of the light introduction board 1, and a reflection board 3 which reflects light emitted from the light source 2 on the light guiding board 1 side. The lighting system illuminates by leading the light emitted from the light source 2 into the light introduction board 1 from the incident end face 1a of the light introduction board 1 and emits the light from an outgoing face orthogonal to the incident end face 1a. The lighting system is further provided with a surface temperature control means to control a surface temperature of the light source 2 so that light emission efficiency of the light source 2 may be a maximum level corresponding to the temperature characteristic of the light source 2. |
