PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To immediately restart a discharge lamp after an instantaneous power failure, to simplify a structure and to reduce the cost. SOLUTION: This lighting system is provided with a constant current power supply unit 1 feeding a constant current, multiple discharge lamps 2 and multiple transformers 3 corresponding to multiple discharge lamps 2. The primary side of multiple transformers 3 is connected in series to the constant current power supply unit 1 via a bus line 4. Multiple discharge lamps 2 are connected to the secondary side of multiple transformers 3 respectively. A transformer having a core made of a material having an angular hysteresis characteristic is used for multiple transformers 3. |
