A liquid crystal display device features anti-glare without raising the haze value and obtains a better view of field with vertical orientation, and a useful anti-glare polarized light film lamination for the liquid crystal display device are provided. Linear polarizers 20 and 21 are disposed on both sides of the liquid crystal device 10 with vertical orientation. A first phase difference plate 26 whose refractive rate structure is nx>ny□nz is arranged between a device substrate and the linear polarizers, and its phase lag axis is parallel or perpendicular to the penetration axis and its adjacent straight line polarizer. A second phase difference plate 27 whose refractive rate structure is nx□ny> nz is disposed between the first phase difference plate 26 and the device substrate or between the other device substrate and the linear polarizers. The linear polarizer 20 has an anti-glare surface in delicate multi-spherical shape on the display side. From a top-view, the spherical surface with the height of 0.1~10 &mgr;m and the area of 25~2500 &mgr;m2 accounts for 90 % or more of all surfaces. The flat anti-glare layer 30 accounting for less than 10 % of all surfaces then becomes the liquid crystal display device. |
